y dear friends, as the warming rays of our spring sun begin to awaken all of nature, I pray that your lives might spring forth with signs of new life as well. May the darkness of what has seemed, to many, to be a yearlong Lent give way to the light and hope of the resurrec- tion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout this Easter season, I invite you to gaze upon the crucifixes in your homes and churches and reflect on how the love of Christ on the cross touches your life, especially in your times of suffering and struggle. At the lighting of the paschal candle at the Easter Vigil Mass, the priest proclaims: May the light of Christ rising in glory dispel the darkness of hearts and minds. My prayer for you is that the Lord God will shower you with the grace, hope, joy and promise of our resurrected Lord and Savior. TRULY, HE IS RISEN! ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!! May the risen Christ shower you and your loved ones with the peace and joy of Easter, today and always. Sincerely yours in the risen Christ, Most Rev. James P. Powers Bishop, Diocese of Superior
